CRPS/SEA Custom Summit Sessions
Yikes! Where Do I Begin?
This workshop is perfect for beginners looking to get their feet wet in the wonderful world of G Suite EDU. Participants will create the necessary foundation to begin using the G Suite apps in the classroom, including the installation of the Chrome Web Browser, logging into and navigating Google Drive, creating folders, creating and moving files, starring frequently accessed documents, and much more.
Quick Documentation with Google Forms
In this session, we'll build a very simple Google Form. Teachers and administrators can use this specific workflow for quick documentation of observations. After capturing the notes in a Form, we'll organize and analyze the data in a Google Sheet. Finally, we'll add the Form to your smart phone for even faster data collection. If you are new to forms and want to walk away with one you can use in school on Monday, you'll enjoy this hour.
DocAppender for Descriptive Feedback Organization
Are you like me and love Google Forms but feel a bit sick when reading the data on a Google Sheet? The Google Forms add-on DocAppender is just what the doctor ordered! In this session, you will learn how to push all the data you collect from a Form into its Sheet AND into a specific Google Doc. DocAppender appends Google Form responses to the bottom of selected Google Documents right in your own Drive. When the hour is up, you’ll have your own workflow in place and practical applications for your classroom. Whether it’s for observations, conversations or assessment and evaluation, docAppender is the add-on for you. My two personal favourite applications are using docAppender in FDK for documentation and in intermediate math for sharing descriptive feedback with students. PLEASE NOTE: You must bring a laptop to this session. iPads will not work for this application.
Supercharge Student Voice with Flipgrid
In this session participants will be introduced to Flipgrid, the video discussion tool that supercharges your students’ voices. Learn how to document conversation data in ways that engage students and inspire creativity.
